About Us

The Ann Arbor Bucket List is a blog dedicated to showcasing things University of Michigan students should do before graduating and leaving Ann Arbor. You can learn more about each of our group’s five members below.

Matt Boyer

Matt is from Rochester Hills, MI.  A senior majoring in Political Science and Communication Studies, Matt works for the WCBN (88.3 FM) Sports Department and Michigan Sports Television.  He took the COMM 439 class due to his interest in journalism as a career.  In addition to watching his Detroit Tigers during the summer, Matt’s interests include playing golf, reading, and doing volunteer work with The Detroit Partnership.

Christy Hammond

Christy is a senior double majoring in Sport Management and Communication Studies at the University of Michigan. She was born in Detroit and grew up in Northville, a city exactly in between Ann Arbor and Detroit. When she’s not in class, Christy is likely at a hockey rink or thinking about hockey as she is currently an intern for the Detroit Red Wings in the PR department as well as the University of Michigan athletic department. After she graduates in December 2009, she hopes to find a job in sports public relations.

Lucy Karpilovskaya

Lucy Karpilovskaya is a senior at the University of Michigan with a major in Russian and Eastern European Studies. She is from Troy, MI and she is excited to be moving to New York City in May where she will be pursuing a career in fashion public relations. She has enjoyed this opportunity to practice being a multimedia journalist and looks forward to applying what she has learned to her career.

 

Alissa Ng

Alissa Ng is a senior graduating with a degree in Communications and Political Science and is from Singapore but lives in Western Australia. She is on study abroad at the University of Michigan for a year and has enjoyed living in Ann Arbor. When she is not studying, she enjoys traveling and hopes to pursue a career in fashion or political journalism.

Kenyon Sivels

Kenyon Sivels is a senior graduating with a degree in American Culture.  He is from Omaha, NE where he grew up a diehard Huskers fan; but still cheers for Michigan too!  For fun, he likes to be with people doing just about anything.  He is a huge sports fan, football being first.  When he graduates, he plans on becoming a pastor within the Salvation Army church.
